The play began when J.T. Spnnger (Tyler McLaughlin) was 26
hours old . .. and his father (Marcus Kimball) was already
expecting too much of h1m. As J.T. grows older, he becomes
even more aware of his shortcomings. When J.T. gets to high
school, he discovers girls - mamly Melanie Webster (Michaela
Randolph), who would rather have nothing to do with him.
Through all of this rejection, J.T. turns to the television and
solitude of his room for company. J.T. becomes a fifties JUnkie.
He creates in his mind a place where Melanie becomes Julie and
she is subject to h1s every whim. J.T. IS popular m th1s fifties
world and doesn't want to leave. But when the characters in this
make believe place tum into their real life selves and tell J.T. to
face reality, he is forced to leave Bolkdale. When he gets back
to the real world, J.T. faces up to his parents, joins track, and
even makes a few friends.

During the summer of 2001 sixteen students and six adults left Bayfield and traveled
to France and Italy. All of the students had gathered money and taken weekly classes to
prepare for what would become the experience of a lifetime. The group was in Europe for
twelve wonderful days. They visited Paris, the French Riviera, Florence, Rome, and the Isle
of Capri among other places. Getting to spend time with friends from school and learn
about different cultures was a great experience for everyone on this trip.
